Alexey Lutsenko claimed Tour of Oman’s stage 2 (with Kristoff holding the GC lead), whilst Miguel Angel Lopez and Gorka Izagirre secured overall wins at Tour Colombia 2.1 and Tour de la Provence
Northwave Extreme Pro shone with Astana Pro Team's riders on the highest step of the podium in three international stage races on Sunday, February 17th.
Alexey Lutsenko (Astana Pro Team) soloed to win in Tour of Oman stage 2 - 156,5 km from Royal Cavalry Omano to Al Bustan - with a 3-second advantage on two more Northwave riders: Alexander Kristoff (UAE-Team Emirates) – winner of the opening stage on February 16th - and Ryan Gibbons (Dimension Data). Lutsenko moved up to second position in the GC, with the same time of leader Kristoff.
Astana’s Miguel Angel Lopez conquered the 2019 Tour Colombia 2.1 title, placing third in the final stage - 173,8 km from El Retiro to Alto de Palmas (Colombia) - behind winner Nairo Quintana and Ivan Ramiro Sosa. Lopez took the overall success in the home race, with 4 seconds on Sosa and 42 seconds on Daniel Felipe Martinez.
Gorka Izagirre brought home the Tour de la Provence leader's jersey after stage 4 - 162,2 km from Avignon to Aix-en-Provence - won by German John Degenkolb. Astana Pro Team’s rider was crowned king of the French race ahead of Simon Clarke and Tony Gallopin.
On the same day Northwave also grazed the win at Trofeo Laigueglia (Italy), where Italian Nicola Bagioli (Nippo Vini Fantini Faizanè) was runner-up with his Northwave Extreme Pro behind winner Simone Velasco.
